My versions of the pull through braid

This one is from Cute Girls Hairstyles. They did a tutorial for a ”pull through braid” this week, I tried it, and then got a bit carried away and did three versions of it:

pull through ponytail, side french pull through braid, and a french pull through braid

Here is a link to Mindy’s tutorial. I did the Cute Girls Hairstyles version on the left. The middle one is a little side french version and on the right, a full french pull through…

It is not as easy as the video seems, at least not on my girls. Every time I tightened an elastic, the thin bits of hair started sticking out everywhere… I figured out a way around it (instead of pulling ponytails through each other, I divided the top ponytail into two parts that I took around the bottom ponytail), but when it came to the french versions, I ran out of hands. My oldest daughter was able to help by holding strands of hair when needed, but when working on my smallest daughter’s braid, I had to keep strands of hair in my mouth when I needed more than 2 hands!

These braids have between 9 and 11 elastics in them, so they hold really well. The girls slept, went to school and gymnastics, and the braids are still perfectly intact.
